About Jordan Richard Knobler
I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Orlando, Florida. I work in sculpture, installation and various modes of photography.
As a sculptor, I am driven primarily by a desire to investigate material and form, and the relation of these elements to the space they occupy. I am most attracted to rugged, industrial materials: concrete, metal, resin. These are things we often encounter on a daily basis, which usually have no mind paid to them, and yet can be readily transformed into artworks that seem easily at home in a gallery.

As a photographer, I like to capture a wide range of subjects, from current events and everyday life to portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. The camera is an apparatus with which I have been able to investigate many of the things that surround us on a daily basis.

As a designer, I take a minimalist, almost Bauhaus, approach to my work. I am greatly influenced by the likes of Dieter Rams and Max Bill. I believe that the goal of design is to be useful to the work while maintaining an aesthetic quality that heightens the work. Design should be innovative and beautiful without overwhelming the project or the viewer.
